Great Osobor, the rugged forward who averaged 17 points per game for Utah State last season, it was announced today that Osobor has transferred to the University of Washington.
Osobor's decision to join the Huskies isn't unexpected, given his previous connection with Coach Sprinkle. This marks the second time he's followed Sprinkle's coaching path, transferring from Montana State to Utah State when Sprinkle took over there. This time, many believed the only real threat for his services had he not chosen Washington was Kentucky, particularly due to Osobor's connection with recently signed Amari Williams, with whom he played alongside in England.
At Utah State, Osobor established himself as a dynamic and versatile player.
Osobor’s cerebral presence on the court, ususallt results into him outsmarting his opponents. He is an exceptional passer from the perimeter and out of the post. He handles the ball really well and takes advantage of big stepping out to try and guard him on the perimeter. Osobor has really really good hands, he catches everything even when guarded by multiple defenders. One of his biggest strengths is his understanding of post position. He’s very good at getting deep position and burying his man under the rim for easy buckets. He’s a fantastic offensive rebounder who tracks the ball well.
Expect Coach Sprinkle to utilize him similarly to his role at Utah State, both as the primary scorer and facilitator. This offense promises to be entertaining, and hopefully, the Huskies will achieve significant success and make some noise.
